  • “₹80,000 for Dinner? This Dubai Fine-Dining Spot by Bjorn Frantzen Is Worth Every Dirham”

Renowned Swedish chef Björn Frantzén has made a bold entry into Dubai’s fine dining scene with the opening of FZN at Atlantis, The Palm. The menu uniquely blends Asian and French flavours with Nordic influences, resulting in dishes that are both intricate and striking. This high-end tasting menu concept is a sister restaurant to Frantzen in Sweden, which was awarded three Michelin stars, making it the first in the country to achieve that distinction.

When paying such a premium for a meal, the experience begins well before the first bite. From the entrance, guests are led through a carefully designed journey. Standing before a discreet doorway, I press the buzzer. For a moment, it feels like entering a speakeasy bar, before a hallway leads to a lift that whisks me up to a lounge where the evening begins with champagne and canapes.

  • “What Makes Continental Cuisine So Special? A Look at Its Most Iconic Dishes”

Continental cuisine is a term widely used to describe the culinary traditions of mainland Europe, especially Western and Northern Europe. It typically refers to the food cultures of countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Greece. Known for its focus on dairy, herbs, sauces, and a balanced use of spices, continental cuisine celebrates quality ingredients and timeless cooking techniques like roasting, grilling, baking, and sauteing.

Unlike the bold and often spicy flavours of Asian or Latin American cuisines, continental fare is generally more subtle and refined. It prioritises taste through the layering of herbs and the richness of ingredients such as butter, cream, olive oil, and cheese. Meals are typically structured, beginning with a starter or soup, followed by a main course and dessert.

  • **”Conspiracy Theories in the Home? Brothers Say

Gabriel Shemirani blames his influencer mother’s belief in conspiracy theories about medicine for his sister’s death from cancer, after she rejected chemotherapy.

“She was being fed fake information,” the 24-year-old British student told AFP, saying their mother “was against her daughter seeking medical treatments that could have saved her”.

Gabriel’s mother, Kate Shemirani, is one of a growing cohort of health influencers on social media accused of advocating and selling unproven treatments.

She promotes alternative theories about Covid, vaccines and organ transplants, and has called chemotherapy “the poison path” and “mustard gas”.

Gabriel’s twin sister, Paloma fell ill in 2023 aged 22, shortly after graduating from university, and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, a type of cancer which is in most cases “very treatable” according to the UK’s National Health Service.

But Gabriel told AFP his sister opted not to start chemotherapy treatment advised by an oncologist, influenced by her mother’s distrust of conventional medicine. “85 percent of people with my sister’s cancer… would have survived” with chemotherapy, said Gabriel.

  • Comet ATLAS Offers Stunning Display as It Nears the Sun

In mid-January 2025, comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) was observed as it approached within 8 million miles of the Sun, offering a stunning display recorded by the ESA and NASA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). The spacecraft captured images of the comet brightening and its tail extending dramatically as it passed through the Sun’s intense environment. This celestial event provided scientists with a valuable opportunity to study the interaction between the solar wind and the comet’s tail, revealing insights into solar activity.

    Details of the Observation

According to reports from the SOHO mission, the comet was tracked from January 11 to January 2025, using the Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO) instrument. The Sun’s light was blocked by a disk in the images, allowing fainter details of the solar corona to be seen. The head of the comet became so luminous during its perihelion on 13 January that LASCO’s sensors were briefly overwhelmed, creating horizontal streaks known as “bleeding” in the imagery.

    Scientific Significance

Karl Battams, the principal investigator of LASCO at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, stated in a press release that the comet’s tail demonstrated noticeable responses to fluctuations in the solar wind. These reactions are being studied to understand the Sun’s influence on nearby objects. LASCO, which has contributed to the discovery of over 5,000 comets since its launch, continues to play a vital role in solar and heliospheric studies.Visibility and Current Status

Reports from an official press release of NASA indicate that comet ATLAS was briefly visible in the Northern Hemisphere after sunset during its closest approach. However, the comet is now receding and is best observed from the Southern Hemisphere. Astronomers have suggested that the comet may have fragmented after its solar encounter, raising the possibility of a rapid dimming in the coming days.

The SOHO mission is a collaborative project managed by NASA and ESA, with mission operations led by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

  • Hubble Captures Stunning Image of Peculiar Spiral Galaxy Arp 184 in Camelopardalis

NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope has captured a beautiful yet skewed-shaped spiral galaxy that resides about 190 million light-years away from Earth. This galaxy, named Arp 184 or NGC 1961, is a part of the Camelopardalis or the Giraffe constellation. Its vivid and dazzling image reveals its asymmetric shape, and a single spiral arm stretched towards the viewer make it an interesting prospect for studies. The occurrence of multiple supernovae has drawn the attention of researchers to be a valuable target for research into galactic interactions and stellar explosions.

    Cataloguing the galaxy

According to the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies compiled by astronomer Halton, Arp in 1966, the galaxy is named Arp 184. This catalogues about 338 galaxies that tend to be neither entirely spiral nor entirely elliptical-shaped. Dwarf galaxies without particular structures and the galaxies interacting with one another are also catalogued here. Arp 184 has a bright spot radiating light as the centre. A thick, stormy disc of material surrounds this, with swirling strands of dark dust and bright spots of star formation strewn through the disc.

A large spiral, star-speckled arm extends from the disc towards the viewer, for which it has earned a spot in this Atlas. The far side of Arp 184 does not have this impressive stretched arm, but it sports a few wisps of gas and stars on that side.Hubble snapshot observing programs

The Hubble image showcases data from three Snapshot observing programs, one of which focused on Arp 184 for its unique appearance. The program surveyed galaxies listed in the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies and A Catalogue of Southern Peculiar Galaxies and Associations. The other two programs examined the aftermath of astronomical events like supernovae and tidal disruption events. Arp 184, having hosted four known supernovae in the past three decades, is a prime target for a supernova hunt.
